Commercial truck transport

Box trucks, tractors, work vans and service bodies move three ways: on a trailer, towed or driven by a professional driver. Tell carriers the year, make, model and how many, and add a trailer preference if your truck needs a step deck or lowboy.

Where is it going?

What carriers need from you

These are the fields in the commercial truck form. Complete answers let carriers bid on the real job instead of padding for unknowns.

Every post also includes

  • Pickup and delivery addresses with date and time windows
  • Extra stops along the route, if any
  • Up to 5 photos and 5 files, such as spec sheets or floor plans
  • Anything else carriers should know, in your own words

The trucks

  • Quantity
  • Year, make and model of each

Trailer preference

  • Flatbed, stretched flatbed, step deck, lowboy, removable gooseneck, flatbed double
  • Auto carrier, dry van, air ride van, reefer, tanker or dump, if relevant
  • Or no preference, so carriers propose a method

Before pickup

  1. 1

Note each truck's height, length and GVWR from the door sticker in the details.

  2. 2

Remove loose equipment from beds and bodies, or list what stays on.

  3. 3

For driveaway, make sure the truck is registered, insured and road-legal for the trip.

  4. 4

Photograph every truck and record the mileage.

  5. 5

If a truck doesn't start, say whether the brakes release; trucks with air brakes need air pressure or caged brakes to roll.

Commercial truck questions

Can my truck be driven to its destination instead of hauled?

Some carriers offer driveaway with a professional driver. Mention it in the details; the truck must be road-legal, registered and insured for the trip.

Which trailer is right for my truck?

Taller trucks usually go on a step deck or lowboy to stay within height limits. If you're unsure, leave the trailer preference off and carriers will propose one in their bids.

Can I move several trucks at once?

Yes. Set the quantity and list year, make and model for each in the details.

When is the carrier paid?

You pay the accepted bid plus the 10% AllShip service fee, and Stripe holds it in escrow. The carrier is paid after you confirm delivery, or automatically 72 hours after delivery if you have not opened a dispute.
